Buffalo, NY artist Rob Falgiano embraces eclectic musical influences and enjoys breaking musical eggs for the thrill of discovery. His new CD “All Star Heart” is an interesting smash-up including: layered electro-pop beats; rhythmic acoustic guitars; ambient blips and bleeps; thumping bass guitar and kick drums; Latin-influenced grooves; and real live strings. Rob has deep respect for classic pop songwriting and feels there are no real barriers between genres. You'll find catchy, uplifting melodies back to back with expressions of desolation. Whatever works and is honest.

All Star Heart is Rob’s 4th full-length release. The single “All My Life” (track 6) expresses spiritual yearning and existential wonder, with Rob ultimately trusting in fate. Mixed towards the vocals and rhythm section, the song is punctuated by break-beats and stacked electronic percussion with live drums. Real acoustic piano and a building lead electric guitar line help the song to rise and peak triumphantly in the final chorus.

Additional songs move between pop playfulness and social commentary, with tracks about admiring female athletes (“Swimmer Girls” - track 7), the torture of prisoners at Abu Ghraib & Guantanamo Bay (“Two Feet in the Sea” – track 5), and personal liberation via the love and beauty of music (“Free” – track 13).

His style has drawn comparisons to alternative-acoustic-pop artists like Elliott Smith, Elvis Costello, The Postal Service, Sufjan Stevens, Damien Rice, and John Mayer.

Opening slots for nationals include: Jakob Dylan, Nickel Creek, Ingrid Michaelson, & Glen Phillips. He performs extensively, averaging 50-80 gigs a year. Via Sacramento’s 5 Alarm Music Rob's music has been featured on TV shows “Felicity” (WB), “The Black Donnellys” (NBC), and “Everwood” (CW).
