Rob Falgiano
Red

Singer/songwriter Rob Falgiano already has six independent full-lengths CDs under his belt, but his latest release “Red” could be the one he has been waiting for.

“Red” gives a lot of different looks; at times the album is hushed and monotone, and sometimes it’s up-tempo and poppy. With strong vocals and heartfelt lyrics, I believe this is the record Falgiano has been looking to make for years.

At times, sounding like the Barenaked Ladies, John Mayer, Elliot Smith and James Taylor all rolled into one, and sometimes mixing in elements of modern rock and emo, Rob Falgiano pulls the odd combination off well on “Red.”

“Red” offers a lot of mixed layers – distinct guitars, harmonica, bold piano and a stark mixture of tenor sax and trumpets, all richly threaded together with Falgiano's shoegazing, sincere vocals. The music is honest and real, scenic and emotional, as is clearly evident on tracks “Smiling Through,” “The Way It Feels,” and “Wreck and a Half.”

This is a down-home slice of classic singer/songwriter Americana.
